Forgejo Custom
Custom theme and templates for the Forgejo instance at git.mundanethoughts.com.
Forked from Blender's infrastructure/gitea-custom
with all Blender-specific pieces stripped: the Products/Modules nav dropdowns,
the global Web Assets navbar, the Blender hero/cards homepage, Blender ID account
linking, and the Blender analytics script. Kept and adapted:
public/assets/css/theme-forgejo-dark.css— the polished dark theme (re-branded frombthree-dark)templates/custom/header.tmpl— all-themes UI polish (buttons, avatars, markup readability, attention alerts, user badges, dropdowns)templates/home.tmpl— clean custom landing page with a GitHub-migration callouttemplates/repo/migrate/helper.tmpl— GitHub migration guidance on the migrate page (token instructions, LFS, user/org migration, wiki/milestones)templates/repo/create_helper.tmpl— generic "new repository" helperdefault_merge_message/*.md— site-wide merge/squash/rebase templates
Install
Clone into the instance's custom directory (/data/gitea in the official
Forgejo container; merges alongside conf/):
# on the Forgejo host, inside /opt/forgejo/data/gitea:
git clone https://git.mundanethoughts.com/jkri-ch/forgejo-custom.git /tmp/fc
rsync -a /tmp/fc/ /opt/forgejo/data/gitea/ # merge, don't overwrite conf/
Set the theme in app.ini ([ui] section):
[ui]
DEFAULT_THEME = forgejo-dark
THEMES = forgejo-dark
then restart Forgejo. Users pick the theme in their preferences (Settings → Appearance → Theme, or the theme toggle in the navbar).
Layout
Everything in this repo is a drop-in overlay for Forgejo's custom dir:
default_merge_message/ site-wide merge templates
public/assets/css/ theme CSS (theme-<name>.css)
templates/ template overrides at the same paths as the built-in ones
